The Northern Beaches district is usually considered to be the area of the Northern Beaches Statistical Subdivision, comprising the local government areas of Manly, Warringah and Pittwater.

  • Manly Council
    Manly is located at the southern end of the Manly Warringah Peninsula of the Northern Beaches, immediately to the north west of the entrance to Sydney Harbour. The area is 16.26km² and has a boundary 39.4km, of which 29.9km is a water margin. Over 20 beaches (includes ocean and harbour beaches).
  • Warringah Shire Council
    Warringah Council currently administers 152 km2 of land, including 9 beaches over 14 kilometres of coastline. It contains 6000 hectares of natural bushland and open space, and is graced by four lagoons, Narrabeen Lagoon marks Warringah's northern boundary, Manly Lagoon marking the southern boundary, with Dee Why and Curl Curl Lagoons located in between. It also contains Manly Dam, a popular place for recreation.
  • Pittwater Council
    Pittwater Council is a Local Government Area on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Pittwater is situated at the northern end of Sydneys Northern Beaches and about 45 minutes drive north of the City of Sydney. Pittwater Council borders the Narrabeen Bridge to the south; Tasman Sea to the east; Barrenjoey Headland to the north; and Coal and Candle Creek to the west.
