The name of Dee Why name is shrouded in mystery with some suggesting it relates back to a DY-like rock inscription supposedly of early Spanish origin. Dee Why could also derive its name from the D and Y shapes of its lagoon at low tide, when seen from some vantage point. Supposedly.
