Pittwater Council is a Local Government Area on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Pittwater is situated at the northern end of Sydneys Northern Beaches and about 45 minutes drive north of the City of Sydney. Pittwater Council borders the Narrabeen Bridge to the south; Tasman Sea to the east; Barrenjoey Headland to the north; and Coal and Candle Creek to the west.
Pittwater Council administers 125 km2 of land which comprises of 9 beaches with 7 ocean rock pools, 20 suburbs the tranquil waterway of Pittwater and two National Parks. 14 km of coastal and wetland walkways, 42 foreshore parks, 15 large developed parks and 58 playgrounds
There are also extensive wetlands providing sanctuary to many bird species, and rock platforms providing habitat for a wide range of marine life.

The suburbs which comprise the Pittwater LGA were detached from the Warringah local government area in 1993. It covers a region adjacent to the Tasman Sea about 30 km north of the CBD of Sydney.
It is named after Pittwater, the body of water adjacent to much of the area governed.
