Dee Why Beach Shopping Centre

Sydney's Northern Beaches

Dee Why Beach runs for 1.2 km. On its southern end, the foreshore is given over to a large car park, Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club, and Dee Why Beach Reserve, which contains picnic areas and century old Norfolk Island Pines, similar to the ones in Manly. The reserve is contained by a seawall running for approximately 400m. There is a rock pool located below cliffs to the south.

On The Strand, the street that runs along the southern beachfront, there are many cafés, restaurants and bars. Over the last few years Dee Why Beach has been tastefully redeveloped which includes the promenade or Corso, apartment blocks and a good selection of restaurants and cafes on the beachfront strip.

The beachfront has become cosmopolitan, with restaurant and coffee shops offering ocean views for all. When combining the park, beach, swimming pool on the point, BBQ and picnic areas and coastal walks, its little wonder that Dee Why is attracting not only Sydney siders, but international visitors as well.

Dee Why Beach is one of Sydneys Northern Beaches finest spots for breakfast try to get to Dee Why early as breakfast at one of the cafes on the beach side strip is a great way to start the day. Just perfect overlooking the beach on a sunny day.

Behind the beach's remaining dunes, to the north of The Strand, is Dee Why Lagoon. Its entrance marks the northern end of Dee Why Beach and the southern extent of Long Reef Beach. The high conservation value of the lagoon and its surrounding area was recognised in 1973 when it was proclaimed a Wildlife Refuge.
