One of our family's favourite walks in Sydneys Northern Beaches is along Long Reef and up the headland, past the golf course. At the top of the headland are views across Dee Why Beach and Manly, to the south, and to the north Narrabeen and more of the Northern Beaches.
At the top of long Reef there are several sculptures, a reference map of the Northern Beaches and you can also watch the hang glider pilots or model plane enthusiast's play around in the wind currents at the top of the headland.
After you have taken in the views continue down the path which takes you to Fishermans Beach, so named because there are several small fishing boats based here which are usually pulled up on the sand. Fishermans beach is also where Tim Bailey, Channel 10 News/Weather likes to report the weather from.
